5. COOKIES AND TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to distinguish you from other users and to help us improve your experience.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device that allow a website to recognise your browser.
We use cookies and pixels to:

If you disable cookies, some parts of our website may not function properly.

- Protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our clients, staff, or others.
7. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS
Some of our service providers and the platforms we use (such as Google, Meta/Facebook, LinkedIn, and cloud providers) are located outside New Zealand. This means your personal information may be stored or processed in other countries.
Before transferring personal information overseas, we will take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient will protect it in a way that is comparable to the protections in the Privacy Act 2020. This may include:
- Transferring to countries that have comparable privacy safeguards; and/or
- Entering into contractual arrangements requiring the recipient to protect the information to a comparable standard; or
- In some cases, relying on your express authorisation after informing you that the overseas recipient may not be required to protect your information in a way that is comparable to New Zealand law.
8. DATA SECURITY & PRIVACY BREACHES
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure.
These steps include:
- Limiting access to personal information to staff and contractors who have a business need to know
- Contractual confidentiality obligations for staff and service providers
- Technical safeguards such as passwords, access controls, and secure systems.
If we become aware of a privacy breach that we reasonably believe is likely to cause serious harm, we will:
- Take steps to contain and assess the breach
- Notify the Office of the Privacy Commissioner and affected individuals as soon as reasonably practicable, as required by the Privacy Act 2020.
9. DATA RETENTION
We keep personal information only for as long as is reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law.
For example:
- Marketing and communications data is generally retained until you unsubscribe, opt out, or we reasonably determine that it is no longer needed for marketing purposes.
- Financial and transactional records (including invoices and related client records) are typically retained for at least seven (7) years after the end of our financial year, as required by New Zealand tax and record-keeping laws.
When personal information is no longer required, we will take reasonable steps to securely delete or de-identify it, subject to legal requirements.
10. YOUR RIGHTS UNDER THE PRIVACY ACT 2020
You have the following rights in relation to your personal information:
Right of access:
You can request confirmation of whether we hold personal information about you and ask for a copy of that information.
Right of correction:
If you believe that any personal information we hold about you is incorrect, incomplete, or out of date, you can ask us to correct it.
We may need to verify your identity before responding to your request. In some cases, we may have lawful grounds to refuse a request (for example, if providing access would unreasonably impact the privacy of others). If that happens, we will explain why, unless we are legally restricted from doing so.
You can exercise these rights by contacting us using the details in Section 15.
You also have the right to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (www.privacy.org.nz) if you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal information.
11. COMMERCIAL ELECTRONIC MESSAGES (EMAIL, SMS, ETC.)
We comply with the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007.
This means that:
- We will only send you commercial electronic messages (such as marketing emails or SMS) where we have your consent (express, deemed, or inferred), or where otherwise permitted by law.
- All commercial electronic messages we send will:
- Clearly identify us as the sender; and
- Include our contact details; and
- Include a functional unsubscribe facility.
You can unsubscribe from our marketing communications at any time by:
- Clicking the “unsubscribe” link in any marketing email; or
- Contacting us using the details in Section 15.
Unsubscribing from marketing messages will not stop essential service communications (e.g. billing or important updates related to services you receive).
12. THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES
Our website may contain links to third-party websites, plug-ins, or applications. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third parties.
If you follow a link to any third-party site or service, they will have their own privacy policy. We encourage you to read those policies before providing personal information.
13. CHILDREN
Our website and services are intended for business owners and professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information about children.
If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can investigate and, where appropriate, delete the information.
14. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements.
When we make changes, we will:
- Post the updated Privacy Policy on our website; and
