What content creation covers
Content creation is the production of the video and photography your marketing runs on. Planned around where it's going, shot on location in your business, edited into the formats each channel actually needs. It's not the same as social media management. That's the planning, posting and replying. Creation makes the thing; management gets it out the door. Most businesses need both, and most only work out which one they're short on when the folder runs empty.
Video, and everything it turns into
Brand films and hero video
The one that has to work when nobody's met you yet. It sits on your homepage, opens your campaigns, and does the convincing before your sales team gets a word in.
Social-first vertical video
Shot vertical from the start, not filmed wide and cropped later. That's why so much agency content looks like it was made for a different platform and squeezed in sideways. This is where most of your volume comes from.
Founder and team stories
You, on camera, saying something true. It's the content most businesses avoid and the one that consistently beats everything else they make. Nobody trusts a logo.
Customer stories
You saying you're good is marketing. A customer saying it is evidence. Ninety seconds of someone genuinely pleased will outsell any script we could write for you.
Behind the scenes and day in the life
A shift, a site, a delivery run. It's what customers never normally get to see, which is exactly why they watch it. Makes the business feel like it's run by people rather than a brand.
Event coverage
Openings, launches, awards nights, sponsorship days. The window's short and so is the shelf life, so we shoot it to go out fast — highlights while people still remember being there, plus stills for the recap.
Stills, shot the same way
Brand and lifestyle
Your product where it actually lives. In a kitchen, on a site, in someone's hands. Not floating on a white background looking like it's never been used.
Product photography
On white for the shop, in context for the feed. Same lighting across the whole range, so your catalogue doesn't look like four different people shot it over two years.
Team and headshots
Everyone in one sitting, lit the same way. Beats a website where half the team looks professional and the other half is cropped out of a wedding.
Venue and premises
What it looks like to walk in. Hospitality and retail get judged on this before anyone reads a word.
Food and hospitality
Plated, styled and shot fast, before it dies under the lights. For menus, socials, and the delivery apps where your photo is the only thing competing against forty others.
Social media content
Square and vertical, shot for the feed from the start. Enough variety to post for months without your regulars noticing you've reused a photo.

How a shoot works
Plan the shoot around the outcome
We start with where the content is going and what it needs to do — an ad, a landing page, a month of social. That decides the format, the length and the shot list, before anyone picks up a camera.
Shoot it properly, once
We shoot for reuse: multiple formats, multiple aspect ratios, enough coverage to cut several pieces from one day. Your team doesn't need to be professional — we direct, and most people are more comfortable than they expect.
Edit, deliver, put it to work
You get the finished assets in the formats you need. Where we're also running your ads or managing your channels, we put the content straight into use and tell you which pieces performed — which informs the next shoot.
FAQs about videography & photography
What's included in a content shoot?
Planning and shot list, the shoot day itself with our crew and equipment, editing, and delivery in the formats you need. Depending on the project that might be one hero video plus a set of cutdowns, or a photography library, or both from the same day. We agree the deliverables before the shoot so you know exactly what you're getting.
How is this different from your social media management service?
Content creation is the production. The shoot, the edit, the finished assets. Social media management is the ongoing running of your channels, including publishing that content. Most clients use both, but you can buy either on its own. If what you post doesn't look how you want it to, you need content creation. If nothing gets posted at all, you need management.
How much does video production cost in New Zealand?
It depends on the shoot: how many days, how much crew, how many finished pieces, and whether there's scripting, talent or animation involved. We quote before we book anything, so there are no surprises.
Do we need to be on camera?
Not necessarily. Plenty of good content is product, premises or voiceover-led. But the businesses that get the best results are usually the ones whose people appear, because that's what builds trust. If your team is nervous, we coach them through it. We did exactly that with Winnie Bagoes, whose team now leads their own content.
How many videos do we get from one shoot day?
It depends what the day is built for. A day shooting short-form vertical produces far more finished pieces than a day built around one hero film. We agree the deliverable count before the shoot.
Do you shoot photography and video on the same day?
Yes. We have multiple operators, so we bring whoever the day needs. If the shot list covers both video and stills, that's planned for rather than squeezed in.
We work out the crew when we agree deliverables before the shoot. That conversation decides who's on site and what you'll get back, so nothing gets dropped on the day because one person was trying to cover both jobs.
